Enhancing In-store shopping experience for visually impaired individuals in a modern supermarket.
Independent shopping in a supermarket that carries thousands of products, spread out in different sections and aisles presents significant challenges for a visually impaired individual.
Shopping complexes are the most functionally challenging environments for these people. It present significant challenges for them form locating the product inside the store, evaluating the product, safely navigating and then the checkout process itself.
Because of these challenges these people feel hesitant about shopping by themselves , the fear of feeling incompetent in carrying out the task by themselves they either choose to shop online or rely on sighted guides like friends, spouses, or partners and sometimes store employees for assistance, giving away their sense of privacy and independence.
