Introducing Next-Gen smart assistive eyewear for visually impaired individuals.
As humans, we interpret and connect with our surroundings using our senses. All the senses are essential for our survival, but we tend to depend more on our sight. We live in a world that is visually dominated, sight is the most significant way of receiving and interpreting information from the world. But for visually impaired individuals who have limited sight have to face a number of challenges on an everyday basis from accessing visual information to traveling independently, which affects their ability to carry out the day-to-day activities.
With the advancement in technology, we have come far to tackle functional and social challenges such as navigational assistance to product identification to Optical character recognition. But there has not been any real development in the Psychological challenges that they have to face when using these devices like walking with a cane or wearing alien-looking wearable headsets that make them feel uncomfortable about their impairment.
There is a need for inconspicuous design to break the psychological challenges that they have to face. Products that can blend into their everyday life without bringing attention to their impairment and can assist them in tackling functional and social challenges to improve their quality of life.
